TGS Global Ventures Program Goes to Poland & Germany

This year marked the 11th international trip for TGS. As always, students prepared themselves for the experience through a deep-dive into the topic and countries during Intensive Week. This year's focus was Bearing Witness: Holocaust Studies. Our students returned transformed from their journey through Poland and Germany, where they bore witness to Holocaust history firsthand.
Standing at Auschwitz-Birkenau and Dachau, walking through the streets of the Warsaw and the former Ghetto, and seeing memorials of commemoration and remembrance, they've gained more than historical knowledge—they've embraced their responsibility as global citizens. We spent considerable time grappling with the rise of Hitler and the Nazi party through the 1920s and 1930s, reflecting on something we heard from a local Warsaw resident: 'There was enough time to stop them". We are proud of these student leaders who return ready to stand against indifference and hatred - ready to actively contribute to a better, more just world.
