In preparation for this experience, students will explore topics in economic development and the village's slow transition to sustainable eco-tourism, regional history, and coastal conservation. Students will snorkel in the turquoise water, river tube and zipline through the rainforest, and wander through 2,000 year old Mayan temples. Our service work will focus around the restoration of mangroves and work with sea turtles and Antillean manatees.
