Coastal Sustainability Symposium presented by the Class of 2022

Our senior class presented its' final product of their semester long expedition titled Finding Our Place by the Sea.  It is the mission of The Greene School to engage students off campus interacting with community environmental leaders and partners. Along with parents, representatives from Save The Bay, Mystic Aquarium, the RI Environmental Education Association and others gathered to listen to student presenters of both individual projects as well as group work.  The students created posters filled with research, pictures, fieldwork and data collection of current environmental issues affecting our oceans and water. The specific topics included: ocean acidification, the impact of microplastics, the effects of climate change on Narragansett Bay, salt marsh conservation, and marine wildlife conservation, among many others! The audience moved from poster to poster to listen to all students discuss their studies and ask questions.  It was a great afternoon and The Greene school thanks our teachers, parents and members of the community for attending the event and supporting our students.
