The Island Foundation

They envisioned a family foundation that was capable not only of reacting to the needs of the community, but also providing leadership grants and taking chances other foundations might be unwilling to consider. The Island Foundation provided us with a generous grant, funding our 12th grade curriculum “Finding Our Place by the Sea”.
The Forrest and Frances Lattner Foundation
The Forrest and Frances Lattner Foundation has generously provided us with a curriculum grant, a food and gardening grant, and a grant allowing us to purchase 2 biodeisel school buses, which allows us to fulfill our mission of bringing students from across the state of RI to The Greene School.

ED’s mission is to promote student achievement and preparation for global competitiveness by fostering educational excellence and ensuring equal access. The Department of Education provided us with a generous grant that provided for many of our start-up costs during our founding years, as well as the monies needed to contract with Expeditionary Learning Schools.
The Greene School would like to formally acknowledge the generous donation made by the Siener Family Trust in honor of their family appreciation for the environment and TGS’s vision of preparing students to be informed, skilled, innovative, and involved community leaders and environmental stewards of the future.
