Shadow a Greene School Student
EL Education Design Principle #8 The Natural World
"A direct and respectful relationship with the natural world refreshes the human spirit and teaches the important ideas of recurring cycles and cause and effect. Student learn to become stewards of the earth and of future generations."
We invite you and your child to visit the school and take a tour of the campus or spend the day shadowing a Greene School student to learn more about the unique nature and programs offered at The Greene School.
The Greene School is located on a beautiful campus of more than 70 acres of natural landscape in rural West Greenwich, Rhode Island. It is home to forest, field, pond, stream, and wetland ecosystems with winding trails and an adventure rope course and climbing tower.
Students at The Greene School move between three buildings offering a campus for students to explore and regular access to the outdoors. Our solar powered greenhouse provides an additional learning environment for students who participate in the grade 9 Crew stewardship project, the Food for Thought expedition, and grade 11 and 12 science classes. During lunch, students have the opportunity to play on the outdoor basketball courts, sit in the yard space with friends or to read a book, or walk the property loop to find space and exercise to be well and prepared to enter the next period of the day.
